MANILA - Emperador Inc. on Tuesday said its net income was flat in the first quarter of the year at P1.4 billion.

The Andrew Tan-led brandy company said it posted nearly P9 billion in consolidated revenues in the January to March period.

"We have an unprecedented and compelling ownership of vineyards, bottling facilities and distilleries. We already have 1,500 hectares of vineyard land, roughly 1,000,000 square meters of cellar and bottling facilities, and three distilleries in Spain," Winston Co, president of Emperador Inc., told the stock exchange.

In March, Emperador took over the 286-year-old company Bodegas Fundador.

The combined brandy production facilities of Emperador and Fundador made Emperador Inc. the largest brandy entity in the world.

Emperador Inc. is majority-owned by Tan's Alliance Global Group Inc.

Emperador shares were down 1.63 percent to P7.85 in noon trading.
